Franck Muller presents Tourbillon Skeleton and Grande Date in Vanguard Collection

Franck Muller, a leading horologist, has distinguished itself not only by its exceptional creations, but also by the creation of its own watch fair: the WPHH – World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie. Day & Night Magazine takes a look at two new watches launched this year at the fair: the Vanguard Tourbillon Skeleton and the Vanguard Grande Date

This WPHH, held on its Watchland site annually, is dedicated to the finest new timepieces of the brand. Exceptional timepieces and world premieres have been launched there, such as the Franck Muller Aeternitas Mega – the most complicated wristwatch in the world. Traditionally rounded off by gala evenings welcoming up to 1,400 guests, the WPHH has become an event that is looked forward to by watch connoisseurs.

Vanguard Tourbillon Skeleton
Discreet yet distinctive, sporty yet modern, the new Vanguard Tourbillon Skeleton claims its new look through the clever appearance of its skeleton body. The bridges hand polished to perfection reveal the manufactured movement of the watch in its entirety. Wholly designed and manufactured in-house, the balanced design of the Vanguard Tourbillon Skeleton showcases the passion for crafts and art of details characteristic of the Franck Muller manufacture.

The open-worked bridges have been designed to accentuate the architecture of this piece, which is very strong. The upper bridge of the tourbillon adorned with the initials of the brand brings this timepiece to life. The Vanguard Tourbillon Skeleton is housed in the brand’s emblematic Cintrée Curvex case, with an integrated bracelet and is available in titanium, carbon, stainless steel and 18-carat gold.

With the architectural lines of its movement, the Vanguard Tourbillon Skeleton is a resolutely contemporary timepiece.

Vanguard Grande Date
Franck Muller is enriching its men’s collection with this latest incarnation of the Vanguard – The Vanguard Grande Date – a watch remarkable for its strong and noticeable features. The architecture of the Vanguard Grande Date is very strong and emphasised by the power of its open dial and the flawless proportion of its curves.

The sporty personality of this timepiece is demonstrated through its open-worked dial that projects sophistication and modernity. Wholly manufactured in-house, all the components of the movement have been hand-bevelled, circular-grained and decorated with Côtes de Genève stripes.

The Vanguard Grande Date is representative of the innovation, performance and craftsmanship values of the Franck Muller manufacture. Aesthetics meet technical attributes in this wristwatch, which displays a circular chronograph, a minute counter at 3 o’clock, a second counter at 9 o’clock and a big date at 7.30.

At the heart of this piece beats an automatic movement offering a power reserve of 46 hours. Available in titanium, stainless steel, 18 carat rose gold and carbon, this new line is delivered with a leather and rubber strap or a nylon and rubber strap.
