Jaeger-LeCoultre pays tribute to femininity with new SIHH novelties

With the introduction of stunning timepieces nurtured by creativity which include exciting contemporary versions of the classic collections such as Reverso, Reverso One and Rendez-Vous, the highly distinguished Swiss manufacture, Jaeger-LeCoultre, continues to enthrall the female connoisseurs of Fine Watchmaking

This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre crafts a series of fascinating timepieces that mark the Swiss luxury brand’s eloquent tribute to femininity. Unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) 2016, the ladies’ collections are highly inspired by the new vision of the iconic Reverso which is celebrating its 85thbirthday. Its host of beautiful offerings for women extends from creating the modern versions of the Reverso Classic Duetto and the three models of Reverso One that call for the ladies’ attention, to the three ultra-feminine delights of the iconic Rendez-Vous collection.

Reverso One

A true embodiment of femininity is the Reverso One collection which features three sophisticated and delightfully iconoclastic models such as Reverso One Réédition, Reverso One Cordonnet and Reverso One Duetto Moon.

While reviving the elongated shape of 1930s watch cases, the Reverso One has its finger firmly on the pulse of today’s fashion trends. On the dial of the Reverso One, the new Arabic numerals radiate a sense of airy lightness, as if they had been handwritten in a lively, buoyant script. The Dauphine-type hour and minute hands sweep across an extremely subtle sunburst guilloché background exuding an aura of elegance that is a sure token of natural elegance. The four corners of the watch face evoke its proud heritage, while the case features the same slightly cambered profile of the historical models that gently hugged the wrist. The sunburst cradle motif lends a dynamic touch to the famous case swivel.

The Reverso One Réédition promotes the exquisite proportions of its mini-sized case that has a powerful charm that one soon cannot bear to be without it. This irresistible charm extends right the way to its slender topstitching-free alligator leather strap, while its back gives free rein to the imagination by providing space on which to engrave names, personal mantras or intimate messages.

The delightfully expressive and companionable Reverso One Cordonnet offers a blend of vintage and modern by borrowing the idea of its dainty leather cord-strap from a 1936 timepiece. The graphic design of the two-tone case also blurs boundaries by combining pink gold and steel, while the blued Dauphine-type hour and minute hands stand out clearly against the white sunburst guilloché dial base. The tone for this model is definitively set by the cord-strap, softly embracing the wrist with a supremely chic and seductively casual air.

Jaeger-LeCoultre also wished to endow this collection with its horological expertise and thus invites women to succumb to their desire for a complicated watch. Powered by a mechanical manually-wound movement, the Reverso One Duetto Moon displays two faces representing two separate worlds. On one side, it reveals the most feminine of horological complications, the moon phase. The mother-of-pearl lunar disc offers a striking and romantic depiction of the heavenly body, standing out against a spangled blue stay drawing the gaze into the depths of a dreamy night. The infinitely graceful dial stage-setting is composed of overlapping circles and radiant beams. Thus associated with the moon phase, the Duetto concept thus associated with the moon phase display, the Duetto concept based on two back-to-back dials driven by a single movement makes the Reverso One Duetto Moon a magnificently accomplished watch. It comes in an alligator strap version or with a steel or gold bracelet delicately accentuating the visual emotions it so artfully stirs.

Reverso Classic

The Reverso Classic watch has acquired iconic status that sets it apart while exuding a reassuringly seductive appeal. Its Art Deco inspiration, its geometrical case, its gadroons, its straight Arabic numerals, along with its minute track, all make light of passing years and fleeting fashions. The Reverso Classic timepiece draws its strength from the ideal relative proportions of the length and width of its case, corresponding to the Golden Ratio theory developed by ancient philosophers and mathematicians.

Available in small, medium and large sizes, the Reverso Classic models are a natural part of both men’s and women’s wardrobes. More than mere accessories, they add signature touches to personal charisma and self-confidence. The subtly reworked lugs are slimmer and flow more smoothly over the wrist. The circular-grained motif on the carrier adds a subtle touch of refinement. The black and white front dial shared by all models in the Reverso Classic collection is subtly textured, with a guilloché centre and a vertical-brushed exterior.

This year, a remarkable timepiece under this collection seems to gain a particular interest to the ladies: The Reverso Classic Duetto.  Crafted in pink gold or steel, it flatters every wrist in its two sizes: small and medium. With its two back and front dials and a double set of hands driven by a single movement, it radiates an enduringly seductive elegance. On the back, the deep black dial features an Art Deco style enhanced by two rows of diamonds that flirt with the night hours. The hands on the front appear in baton-type, blued while at the back the hands are presented in Dauphine-type silver-toned or gold-toned. The small version comes in 34.2 mm x 21 mm case diameter with the mechanical manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 844; while the medium version is available in 40 mm x 24.4 mm case diameter with the Mechanical automatic, Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 968A. Its finished look depends on two options:  Stainless steel or 18-carat pink gold bracelet, and the black alligator leather strap with stainless steel or 18-carat pink gold folding clasp.

Rendez-Vous

With the iconic Rendez-Vous collection comes three fascinating and ultra-feminine timepieces from Jaeger-LeCoultre this year. The captivating pink-gold Rendez-Vous Moon watch is an ode to the celestial body framed by a precious, shimmering exterior. Fire mingles with light in the pink-gold case, along with the purple-red aventurine dial representing the constellations of the Northern Hemisphere. Both the watch face and the exterior are embellished by the brilliance of diamonds. A majestic mother-of-pearl moon progresses slowly amidst the heavenly vault. It reflects the gentle brilliance of the upper part of the dial, adorned with the same material and serving as a backdrop to elegant applique numerals. At the tip of a hand, a mysterious star indicates the time of a future rendezvous. Boasting with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 935, this 265-part mechanical automatic movement has a 40-hour power reserve.

Meanwhile, in the second new version of Rendez-Vous, the colour speaks volumes, a bold yet eminently feminine choice which perfectly enhances the lines of the Rendez-Vous Night & Day steel watch with diamonds. Women who love extraordinary objects are sure to be captivated. The shimmering intensity of the deep purple colouring is accentuated by the reflections from the sunburst satin-finished dial. The brilliant-cut diamonds adorning the crown gracefully match the dazzling dial. The moon and sun perform a graceful dance in the 6 o’clock day/night indicator that features a silver-toned, powder finish elegantly matching the characteristic numerals of the Rendez-Vous collection. Its Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 898A, a 204-part mechanical automatic movement, has a 40-hour power reserve.

Last but not the least is the intensely feminine Rendez-Vous Night & Day watch, clothed in anthracite grey. This Rendez-Vous Night & Day pink-gold watch, graced with jewellery, finishes an elegantly distinguished and distinctive model. The rich anthracite-grey shade of the strap and the sunburst satin-finished dial make a harmonious match with the warmth of the pink gold, an appealing association radiantly accentuated by the brilliant-cut diamonds set around the bezel. The sun and moon perform a subtle dance on the romantic day/night indication appearing in an elegantly rounded 6 o’clock aperture. Powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 898A, this 204-part mechanical automatic movement has a 40-hour power reserve.

Atelier Reverso

For women who seek a personalised Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre has imagined a way of rendering this experience even more exclusive by offering the “Atelier Reverso” beginning the spring of 2016 in Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques. From dial samples to a digital app, careful guidance and advice, everything is being done to ensure that the process is a passionately exciting and indeed truly galvanising experience, ensuring the steady but sure transformation of the Reverso into that intensely personal watch one has always dreamed of.

For intensifying this desire, Jaeger-LeCoultre has invited a star guest to take part in the Atelier Reverso by developing an ephemeral set of proposals that will be available to complement existing ones for just one year. To mark the 85th birthday of the Reverso watch, the Manufacture invited the renowned shoemaker Christian Louboutin to craft the 2016 edition of Atelier Reverso. This collaboration between the creative minds of Jaeger-LeCoultre and Christian Louboutin has delivered an unexpected collection that is sure to cause a sensation.
