Montblanc 110th anniversary in New York City

Montblanc 110th anniversary

The luxury Maison celebrated its long history over a glamorous evening at the iconic Rainbow Room, and at the same time, presented its new Heritage Rouge & Noir Collection.

In a dramatic gathering that fitted perfectly the commemoration of 110 years of its rich heritage, Montblanc returned to the heart of New York City where its pioneering spirit is rooted.

The Maison chose to stage its anniversary party at one of the city’s landmarks, the Rainbow Room inside Rockefeller Centre. As the first restaurant located in a high-rise building when it opened in 1934 and remaining the highest elevated restaurant in the United States for many decades, the Rainbow Room captured the Maison’s spirit and the Art Deco-inspired design of the new Montblanc Heritage Collection Rouge & Noir collection launched at the same night of the 5th of April 2016.

This one-night-only event saw a splashing of A-list guests including brand ambassadors Hugh Jackman and Charlotte Casiraghi as well as actress Kate Bosworth, Socialite Olivia Palermo, Model Johannes Huebl, Blogger Adam Gallagher, Victoria’s Secret Models Sara Sampaio and Emily DiDonato, actor Matthew Morrison, Model Jasmine Tookes and over 110 selected guests.

During an evening of immersive experience, the guests witnessed an artistic tribute to Montblanc’s 110-year legacy wherein a wall of framed pictures narrated the Maison history through the years with original photography and posters from the archives, and more recent images of the many personalities who have been associated with its history.

While enjoying cocktails to the 1920s and 1930s sounds of Chris Norton quintet, guests also walked through an exhibition space featuring six stations referring to the six glaciers of the Mont Blanc that still feature on the Maison’s emblem today. As they strolled through the different areas, guests discovered new watches, writing instruments, leather goods and men’s accessories from the 110th anniversary collections including the one-of-a-kind leather Steamer Bag, the Montblanc Heritage Collection Rouge & Noir Limited Edition 1906 fountain pen crafted from ebonite, the Heritage Rouge & Noir Limited Edition solid red gold cufflinks and the Meisterstück Soft Grain Collection of new leather pieces.

The final chapter of the evening was centred on a lavish anniversary dinner while Montblanc CEO Jérôme Lambert presented the details of the new Montblanc Heritage Collection, Rouge & Noir. The unveiling showcased for the first time the fountain pen Ultimate Serpent Limited Edition 1, a mesmerising serpent that wraps around the cap and barrel set with a full pavée of sapphires, and a 6.15 carat Montblanc Diamond crowns the solid gold writing instrument limited to just one piece worldwide with a price of € 1.2 million.

Last but not the least on Montblanc exclusive reveals was the new advertising campaign film with Hugh Jackman directed by award-winning director Andreas Nilsson. Shot in Budapest, the film takes viewers on a journey through Montblanc’s pioneering past and present, revisiting important milestones of the Maison’s history.
