Officine Panerai commemorates Kuwaiti market

In honour of opening its first Kuwait-based boutique in 2012, Officine Panerai has confirmed its interest in the growing market with the launch of a new timepiece, limited to just 78 pieces

Officine Panerai watches are a subtle blend of Italian design, Swiss technology and deep rooted passion for the sea. The brand’s heritage can be traced back to 1860, where in the Italian city of Florence, craftsman Giovanni Panerai and his grandson, Guido Panerai, strived for precision in the making of the perfect timepiece. Trading under its parent company, the Richemont group, Officine Panerai has four major lines of watches; Historic, Contemporary, Manifattura and Special Editions.

Recently a new edition has joined the Manufacture and was revealed high up on the 55th floor of the Al Hamra tower, where an exclusive Officine Panerai launch unfolded on the evening of the 15th of April, 2015. The Florentine luxury sports watchmaking house, known for its unique fusion of Italian design and Swiss manufacturing skill, hosted an exclusive VIP reception in collaboration with Morad Yousuf Behbehani at the Sky lounge in Kuwait to reveal the new Radiomir Ceramica.

An impressive number of guests came together to celebrate the launch of the latest Special Edition Watch, the Radiomir Ceramica. Besides a charming Panerai atmosphere and some jazz entertainment, guests had the opportunity to try on the special edition watch as well as explore the additional watch collections on display.

The Radiomir Ceramica measures 45mm in diameter and is exclusively available at the Panerai boutique in Al Hamra Tower, Kuwait. The limited edition timepiece is crafted in matt black ceramic paired with a black dial of extraordinary clarity and legibility, which is due to the sandwich structure and minimalist design of the watch.

Demonstrating a strong sporting quality, the watch is instantly recognisable as a Panerai family member. Faithfully reproducing the shape of the first watches created in 1936 for the Royal Italian Navy, the watch continues to provide the performance expected of high quality watchmaking and is water resistant to a depth of 100 metres.

The ceramic used in the making of the special edition is synthesised from zirconium oxide powder, which undergoes a complex series of operations to become a material of remarkable aesthetic impact, coloured in uniform matt black, being very light, extremely tough and highly resistant to scratches and external shocks. Powered by a hand-wound OP X calibre, the Radiomir Ceramica is completed with a strap made of natural green canvas.
