OMEGA speeds into 2015

Popular culture appears to have turned OMEGA into the watch brand of choice; its proven watchmaking expertise was initiated in 1848, when OMEGA was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland

Today, it is owned and operated by reputed industry giant, Swatch Group, where its heritage of high-quality craftsmanship endures. OMEGA continues to take on, and meet, significant horological challenges, setting new benchmarks for the Swiss watchmaking industry – its latest stock of boundary-pushing novelties certainly attests to that:

Globemaster

Inspired by the design of its early Constellation models, the Globemaster houses the brand’s most advanced mechanical movement. The watch is distinguished by its pie-pan dial, “fluted” bezel, and a case back honouring OMEGA’s precision accomplishments during the 1940’s and 50’s. Each Globemaster timepiece is quality assured, following a series of tests, according to a new benchmarking certification standard established in association with the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) – endowing the timepiece with the first Master Chronometer status in watchmaking. Variations include platinum, 18K Sedna™ gold, 18K yellow gold and stainless steel; blue or silver dials; metallic straps or blue and grey leather straps.

Seamaster Aqua Terre “James Bond”

Inspired by the Bond family coat of arms, this latest limited edition Seamaster was released in anticipation of the 24th James Bond film, ‘SPECTRE’. The stainless steel case houses a completely new movement, which empowers the timepiece with a 15,007 gauss resistance to magnetic fields.

Speedmaster “White Side of the Moon”

In ode to the radiant hue with which the moon is seen from Earth, this latest innovative model is presented in white zirconium oxide ceramic. Its polished white ceramic bezel boasts a nitride tachymeter scale and its ceramic pushers function completely independently.

Speedmaster Moonwatch “Dark Side of the Moon”

Four daring variations enhance the Speedmaster legacy, with matte chromium nitride marks and “Dark Side of the Moon” gracing their black ceramic case back rings. All with matte black dials: “Pitch Black” is distinguished by its Superluminova dial elements and black leather strap with ecru stitching; “Black Black” has blackened dial features and a nylon fabric strap; “Vintage Black” has brown indexes and hands, with vintage Superluminova dial and tachymeter elements and a brown leather strap. Finally, “Sedna Black” has 18K Sedna™ accents, a matte grey dial, “Vintage” Superluminova elements and a black leather strap.

Speedmaster ’57

The newest upgrade of the original Speedmaster of 1957 remains loyal to the style of this icon, yet embodies several updated features. What sets this timepiece apart from its most recent predecessor is its recessed hour markers, partially filled with “vintage” Superluminova that emits a green light, its “Broad Arrow” Superluminova coated facetted rhodium-plated central hour and minute hands and alpha-shaped hands for the sub-dials. It is presented on either a brown leather strap or OMEGA’s patented brushed and polished stainless steel screw-and-pin bracelet.

Speedmaster Apollo 13 “Silver Snoopy Award”

Paying homage to both the unforgettable space mission 45 years ago, and the Silver Snoopy Award presented to OMEGA in 1970 for its contributions to the entire Apollo programme, the timepiece is powered by the same manual-winding chronograph movement at the heart of the legendary Moonwatch. The monochromatic design is clearly a tribute to the famed “Peanuts” comic strip, featuring the cartoon dog Snoopy, a NASA mascot, who graces the dial and case back of the timepiece.

Constellation Pluma

Now with a newly-designed mother-of-pearl dial in a warm coral hue (white mother-of-pearl available), the feminine timepiece maintains its subtle elegance. The 18K red gold bezel is paved with 32 full-cut diamonds, while the dial features 11 diamond indexes in 18K gold holders and a soft-wavy pattern that flows between the iconic claws on the bezel. A stainless steel and 18K yellow gold version is also available

De Ville Prestige Dewdrop

Combining elegant fine jewellery with precise timekeeping, there are two versions of this timepiece, one with a 32.7 mm case which houses a Co-Axial calibre 2500 movement, and another with a 27.4 mm case powered by the OMEGA quartz calibre 4061. Variations include 18K red or yellow gold, and two white mother-of-pearl with diamond indexes, however one includes a beautiful golden butterfly design. Both versions are adorned with a fully diamond-set bezel and an opulent jewellery bracelet.
