Richard Mille partner’s team win Triple Crown in Argentina

Friend of the exclusive brand, Pablo Mac Donough’s team La Dolfina emerged victorious in the final of the 2014 edition for the second year running, boasting a record of 22 consecutive wins

Every year the best teams from the Argentinean championship are united at the highly prestigious polo tournament, known as the Triple Crown. The 2014 final was held in Palermo on December 7th and saw La Dolfina, led by Adolfo Cambiaso, face off against Ellerstina once again, in a spectacular end to the competition which captivated audiences and lasted three whole hours.

The match was extremely close, with both teams taking turns to score goals; however, La Dolfina quickly set the pace by scoring the first goal within the first fifteen seconds thanks to a remarkable strike by David Stirling. Both teams worked hard and were determined to succeed, but the desire for victory by Pablo and his team allowed them to win the tough match. This 121st edition of the Argentinean Polo Open once again demonstrated the strength of La Dolfina in gaining their victory and breaking competition records.

In 2011, Richard Mille, a brand consistently seeking out new real world laboratories, decided to become involved with the endurance sport of polo. With the help of Pablo Mac Donough as a partner of the brand, Richard Mille developed the RM 053 Pablo Mac Donough, a completely new case design in titanium carbide inspired by the tonneau shape and engineered to withstand extreme shocks experienced during polo matches.
