Zenith unveils El Primero Cohiba in Dubai

Swiss watchmaker, Zenith, recently hosted an exclusive launch event for the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Cohiba in Dubai

The event, which was held in collaboration with the brand’s luxury retail partners in the city, Rivoli Group, was held at the No. 5 Cigar lounge at the Ritz Carlton-DIFC. Select cigar aficionados from the city were invited for the exclusive event, which also had Aldo Magada, the CEO of Zenith, and Ramesh Prabhakar, the Vice-Chairman and Managing Partner of Rivoli Group, in attendance.

Additionally, Zenith hosted an exclusive luncheon for specialised and trade press in the presence of Nick Foulkes, author, historian, internationally recognised horlogerie journalist and Havana Man of the Year 2007.

On the occasion of this anniversary, Zenith is presenting a limited series of its legendary El Primero chronograph, with 50 watches in rose gold and 500 in stainless steel – all featuring a Havana brown dial and emblematic Cohiba motifs. The exclusive “anniversary” El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Cohiba Edition by Zenith is adorned in glossy chestnut, reminiscent of the amber colour of the prestigious cigars.

The profile of aboriginal chief Taino, the manufacture’s emblem, appears alongside the Zenith and Cohiba logos. The Cohiba Edition flaunts clean, sleek lines, is housed in an elegant 42 mm-diameter rose gold case, and is fitted with a fluted crown and two round push-pieces. Topped by a domed sapphire crystal, this display is punctuated by facetted, luminescent hands. The sapphire caseback, engraved with the Cohiba’s 50th anniversary logo, reveals an oscillating weight adorned with “Côtes de Genève”.
