Bulgari dedicates new creations for women

The highly distinguished luxury Rome-based Maison makes a splashing of sparkling novelties that celebrate its discerning feminine clientele. From the various interpretations of the legendary Serpenti to the infusion of colours in Lucea and reliving the iconic Diva’s Dream, Bulgari has something special for every elegant lady this year

During Baselworld 2016, the renowned jewellery and watch brand, Bvlgari, has taken the centre stage with the unveiling of the world’s thinnest minute repeater. Yet despite its prominence in the craft of men’s watchmaking, Bulgari did not fall behind in creating the most creative and imaginative for its female connoisseurs. This 2016, it also unfurls an array of fascinating timepieces that will surely dazzle the ladies.

Serpenti Spiga

The rebirth of the legendary creature Serpenti has paved the way for the new aesthetic dimension for the brand’s enchanting symbol of luck. Here enters a whole new era of expression, renewing the theme through high jewellery and haute horlogerie, ceramic and five-coil Tubogas interpretations. With the Serpenti Spiga, the Serpenti watch by Bulgari is first and foremost a style statement, an attitude and true classic.

Featuring the diamond-set pink gold bezel, along with the bracelet lug and the serpent’s tail, also in pink gold, this stylish watch creates a subtle contrast with the highly contemporary overall ceramic look. Exuding glamour, this piece makes no secret of its seductive appeal, starting with the soft feel of ceramic on the skin.

Curved in 35mm diameter case in black or white ceramic, it comes in versions with an 18 carat pink gold crown set with a black or white ceramic cabochon, a black or white polished lacquered dial, and a single-coil bracelet in black or white ceramic punctuated by two 18 carat pink gold elements. Powered by the Bulgari personalised quartz movement, adorned with the Bulgari logo (B033), this watch is water resistant up to 30 metres.

Serpenti Tubogas

Following the serpent theme, Bulgari offers a fresh twist on another of its symbols with the Serpenti Tubogas. Named after the modernist, industrial-style aesthetic of the exhaust pipes on luxury sports cars during the Art Deco period, this collection introduces three new interpretations, starting with an incredible version on which five rows of steel and pink gold literally set a magnificent stage for the forearm of the woman wearing it.

From wrist to inner elbow, the five splendid coils of the Serpenti showcase the full measure of its infinite suppleness and its exceptional adaptability. This version comes with a 35mm diameter case, 18-carat pink gold bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds, 18-carat pink gold crown set with a cabochon-cut pink rubellite, an opaline black dial with sunburst guilloché motif, and a five-coil bracelet in 18-carat pink gold and steel.

Meanwhile, it also appears in two more discreet versions with a single-coil bracelet and an amethyst-like purple lacquered dial with sunburst guilloché motif. One features the gleam of polished steel, which enhances the architectural and technical nature of the articulated bracelet, while the other plays on shimmering chrome- and gold-toned reflections.

Offering a delightful palette of combinations, each watch becomes virtually one of a kind and there are countless options to meet the expectations of the women who choose a watch from the Serpenti line.

Lucea Il Giardino Paradiso

In 2016, Lucea is perpetuating the saga that began in 2013 and adopts precious ornamentation representing a distinctly horological echo of the jewellery collections from the Maison. The Il Giardino Paradiso collection comes in the form of two precious watches graced with finely and elaborately decorated dials that evoke luxuriant fauna and flora with an exotic and vibrantly colourful bird of paradise motif.

The complex and sophisticated dials of both versions pay tribute to the talent of the artisans. One model features an 18-carat pink or white gold case (depending on the version) set with 45 brilliant-cut diamonds, a sapphire crystal caseback, and an 18 carat pink or white gold crown set with a cabochon-cut pink stone and a brilliant-cut diamond.

Meanwhile, in another model, blue mother-of-pearl depicts the sky background enlivened by a bird of paradise and a motif composed of flowers and foliage. This tableau springs to life through meticulously hand-crafted miniature painting accentuated by 34 brilliant-cut diamonds and complemented by the same gems set on the bezel and the bracelet lugs.

The two interpretations of Il Giardino Paradiso are enriched with the Swiss Haute Horlogerie expertise cultivated by Bulgari, since they beat to the rhythm of Manufacture Tourbillon Calibre BVL 263. Available 50-piece limited numbered edition for both versions, the Lucea Il Giardino Paradiso comes in shiny red or blue alligator strap depending on the version, fitted with 18-carat pink or white gold lugs, set with 24 brilliant-cut diamonds, and 18-carat pink or white gold pin buckle.

Piccola Lucea

Lucea also proves itself capable of renewal by playing with the case size. The Rome-based Maison thus offers active women an appealing new model named Piccola Lucea. This new version has been redesigned in a daintier diameter providing a very contemporary response to the growing demand for ever-smaller ladies’ watches.

Curved in 23mm pink or white gold case set with diamonds, Piccola Lucea features a 21st century sundial evoking the culture of Ancient Rome designed to grace the wrist of urban women in tune with their times through a chic and discreet watch. Each comes with an alligator leather strap matching the dial colour (mother-of-pearl dial, snow-set dial or sunburst satin-brushed silver-toned dial), or with the collection’s dedicated stainless steel bracelet featuring structured, articulated links.

Lucea New Colours

Additionally, Bulgari also offers the iconic Lucea in a splash of new palettes that takes its power from the Bulgari personalised quartz movement, Calibre B046 for the 28mm version; mechanical self-winding movement, Calibre B77, for the 33m and 36mm versions.

Curved in 18-carat pink gold, 18 carat gold/stainless steel or stainless steel, the watch flaunts its sunburst guilloché blue or purple dials inspired by sapphires and amethyst and graced with, depending on the version, Roman numerals or diamond hour-markers. Fitted with a stainless steel or 18-carat pink gold, stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap, the Lucea New Colours collection is water resistant to 50 metres.

Diva’s Dream

This year, Bulgari evokes the Dolce Vita period with the introduction of the Divas’ Dream watches. Available in various versions, the elegant models either come in the graceful shape of a complication watch in lapis lazuli or heart of ruby, or as supremely refined timepieces featuring a dial entirely paved with diamonds, or an acetate version for bolder look.

The new Divas’ Dream models feature a pure dial that focuses on essentials: An hours display through an aperture at 6 o’clock, retrograde minutes hands sweeping over the surface of the coloured stones. The dial layout provides a broad surface enabling the eye to appreciate the unique texture and distinctive shades of radiant sky blue lapis lazuli framed by a white gold case, or of burgundy red heart of ruby stone matched by a pink gold exterior. On both models, the seven retrograde minutes markers are in fact diamonds.

The mechanical self-winding movement beating at the heart of the watch, BVL Calibre 262, has a 42-hour power reserve. Its single retrograde minutes hand, together with the Jumping Hours display appearing through a rounded aperture, transform time measurement into a poetic, precious and vibrant experience. The case, as well as the characteristic lug of Divas’ Dream watches evoking the fan-shaped motif adorning the Caracalla thermal baths, are set with 79 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling more than two carats.

Meanwhile, the other version has no particular horological complications, while remaining inherently sophisticated and representing the perfect jewellery watch.  Curved in 18-carat white gold 30mm case, this model is available in a full-pavé diamond dial, set with 233 brilliant-cut diamonds and fitted with a black satin strap with an 18-carat white gold pin buckle, and a brown acetate dial composed of a natural cotton and wood fibre mix, set with 12 diamond hour-markers and fitted with a taupe satin strap with an 18kt white gold pin buckle. Not the least among the Divas, this version houses the quartz movement personalised for Bulgari, adorned with the Bulgari logo (B046).
