Richard Mille goes passionate with RM 69 Tourbillon

The Swiss watch brand, Richard Mille, crafts a creative interpretation on expressing love and passion in the new limited edition RM 69 Tourbillon

To pay tribute to the history of the watchmaking industry and the creativity of the past generations, Richard Mille introduces the extraordinary watch, the RM 69 Tourbillon. This unveiling celebrates the memory of playful timepieces that were artistically designed and secretly used in the olden days. Thus appropriately crafted, the RM 69 Tourbillon demonstrates a clear affirmation of the creative longing to reveal the wearer’s most secret intentions.

Delightful and amusing at the same time, the RM 69 Tourbillon draws attention on its striking feature that showcases proclaimed feelings of love and passion. It offers its wearers the pure pleasure of the new Richard Mille “Oracle” complication, a mechanism that sets off the rotation of three grade 5 titanium engraved rollers like Tibetan prayer wheels in order to display a random phrase. Activated on request by pressing a button at 10 o’clock, the remarkable watch proudly reveals the wearers’ deepest desires.

Taking a further look into its mechanism reveals more of its outstanding attributes. The RM 69 Tourbillon flaunts the bridges and baseplate of a manual-winding tourbillon calibre that are machined from grade 5 titanium. The movement is designed in collaboration with Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi, and features 505 components and 41 jewels. It is extremely compact, thanks to its unique construction that enables the tourbillon and barrel to be aligned on the same axis. Enhanced by steep bridges, the 3 Hz tourbillon carriage and the barrel insist on being seen. Meanwhile, a tripartite case in grade 5 titanium protects the impressive calibre.

As a reflection of the uncompromising commitment to the calibre’s aesthetic, the timepiece receives exemplary finishes from circular-graining, beveling, mirror-finishing and hand-polished sinks that are paired with PVD-treated, micro-blasted and satin-finished surface.

The limited edition watch has a 69-hour power reserve that is displayed in a new aperture at 4 o’clock in the form of a gauge powered by a planetary differential. This exceptional power reserve, obtained using a simple barrel, testifies to the Swiss brand’s quest for high performance in this original movement.

To enhance its legibility, the movement’s engineers have developed a mechanism allowing the hands to break free from the geartrain. Activating the push-piece at 8 o’clock makes the hands disappear, visually liberating the rollers. Once released, the hands automatically return to their rightful position in time.

Ergonomic and extremely comfortable – as is always the case with Richard Mille – the case of RM 69 Tourbillon is assembled with 20 Spline screws, also in titanium, ensuring the watch remains water-resistanct up to 50 meters. The massive case has generous dimensions of 50.00 mm x 42.70 mm x 16.15 mm.

The RM 69 Tourbillon is available exclusively in Richard Mille’s 24 boutiques around the world in limited count of 30 pieces.
