A. Lange & Sohne’s challenge for young horologists

Haute horlogerie brand A. Lange & Söhne is hosting an international talent competition in which eight young watchmakers from seven countries are participating for this year’s “F. A. Lange Scholarship & Watch-making Excellence Award”. In early May 2017, participants were acquainted with Lange watchmaking artistry in Glashütte and Dresden, and received the competition assignment. They have six months to design and build a regulator for which a base movement of ETA is provided. The €10,000 prize will be awarded next December. The kick-off for the competition took place early this year with invitations to over 30 watchmaking schools.
