A veritable bouquet from Chopard

Haute horlogerie and haute joaillerie maison Chopard has unveiled a veritable bouquet of offerings for the ladies. While the L.U.C XP – with its ultra-thin L.U.C Calibre 96.53-L – is a delight for the gentleman’s eyes, the ladies have a plethora to select from, beginning with the L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies and L’Heure du Diamant for timekeeping. Delightful additions to Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie, Happy Diamonds Joaillerie, and Happy Hearts collections also make an appearance, along with new accessories and perfumes

WATCHES

L.U.C XP

Two hands, no seconds, no date, just the essentials. L.U.C XP is the quintessence of Chopard Haute Horlogerie. Attired in steel and enhanced by a satin blue dial with rose gold accents, this ultra-thin, ultra-chic timepiece is much more sophisticated than one might think at first glance. With its 40 mm frame and only 7.2 mm thick, it is an ideal match for every well-dressed man’s wardrobe.

There is something nonchalant about this intense blue dial, whose depth is enhanced by the texture of its surface. Deeply satin-brushed, it adopts a modern matt finish, while the applied hour-markers, two hands and Arabic numerals shine with a delightfully warm glow. Thus, apparently stripped down yet endowed with a wealth of substance, the L.U.C XP dial delights the eye, like a semi-plain fabric, a miniature houndstooth motif, a tone-on-tone Prince of Wales check.

The L.U.C XP comes fitted with a braided fabric strap made of merino wool – from a breed of sheep renowned for the finesse of the yarn it produces – and dyed in deep blue. In addition, a cognac alligator leather strap with brown alligator lining is included.

L.U.C XP is equipped with an ultra-thin L.U.C Calibre 96.53-L, a movement finished in accordance with the high standards upheld by Chopard Manufacture. Its automatic winding is carried out by an engraved tungsten micro rotor, the substantial weight of which optimises the winding power. It feeds two superposed barrels, based on Chopard’s patented Twin architecture. Together, they guarantee the L.U.C XP a generous 58 hours of autonomy.

L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies

Chopard Manufacture places its flying tourbillon at the heart of a feminine timepiece. In 2019, Chopard Manufacture enriched its range of complications with its first automatic movement to feature a flying tourbillon, L.U.C 96.24-L. This calibre featuring Chopard Twin technology with two stacked barrels and highly precise adjustments – notably a stop-seconds function – now powers the two new L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies models in ethical 18-carat rose gold or diamond-set platinum. Ultra-thin thanks to the slender movement size, these two timepieces feature a 35-millimetre diameter perfectly suited to women’s wrists, and carry ‘Chronometer’ and Poinçon de Genève certifications.

L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies

Featuring an ultra-thin case measuring just 7.47 millimetres, crafted in ethical 18-carat rose gold or platinum and fully set on the flanks, lugs, interhorn spaces, crown and bezel, the new L.U.C Flying T Twin Ladies watches measure 35 millimetres in diameter, making these two creations among the smallest flying tourbillon watches on the market.

The flying tourbillon plays a centre-stage role through a wide 6 o’clock opening providing a view through the movement, thus creating an effect of transparency and depth, while the tourbillon carriage is topped by a small seconds hand.

The L.U.C 96.24-L calibre is only 3.30 mm thick, and retains its fundamental characteristics: the diameter, the 65-hour power reserve – driven by two stacked barrels using Chopard Twin technology – and its automatic winding via a 22-carat gold micro-rotor. On the platinum version, the artisans add an ultimate touch of refinement by setting this micro-rotor with diamonds.

In the gold version, the tourbillon opening is cut out from a textured mother-of-pearl dial, adorned with hour-markers set with brilliant-cut diamonds – except at 12 o’clock, which is indicated by golden Arabic numerals. The dial of the platinum variation is richly set with a paving of 282 diamonds centred on the tourbillon carriage.

L’Heure du Diamant

With L’Heure du Diamant, Chopard captures the beauty of diamonds. The collection stemming from this genius now welcomes a timepiece shaped like the maison’s cherished heart symbol and graced with a pink mother-of-pearl dial featuring refined guilloché work. Crafted in ethical 18-carat rose gold, it pairs a heart-shaped hand-guilloché pink mother-of-pearl dial with a bezel entirely paved with brilliant-cut diamonds enhanced by the sophisticated crown setting, as well as a pink leather strap.

Before watches came to adopt large sizes, timepieces housed the secret of time on women’s wrists with the utmost discretion. Above all, they were an element of adornment in their own right, a flamboyant jewel whose function was subordinate to form. And the Scheufele family currently at the head of Maison Chopard built its reputation on its perfectly crafted jewellery watches. L’Heure du Diamant collection revives this elegant hint of nostalgia, drawing style cues for its richly gem-set cases from those intensively creative past decades. Housing a mechanical movement with manual winding, L’Heure du Diamant boasts a power reserve of 30 hours.

From fashion to watchmaking, this abiding source of inspiration pays tribute to the timeless nature of femininity through its feather-light, snugly fitted proportions.

JEWELLERY

Haute Joaillerie – XXL earrings

The Chopard Haute Joaillerie workshops are revealing a complete series of earrings featuring an understated yet outsize design. These new creations in diamond-set ethical 18-carat white gold provide a stunning frame for women’s faces.

Three pairs of earrings make their debut in Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie collection. Crafted in ethical 18-carat white gold, they reinterpret the love story between women and the queen of precious stones through curved and generous shapes entirely attired in diamonds.

Over 28 carats of diamonds lend inimitable radiance to these creations that are stylistic elements in their own right. Whether round, heart- or drop-shaped, these earrings distil the sublime aura of diamonds while adding a light touch to feminine charm.

Happy Diamonds Joaillerie

Chopard’s iconic dancing diamonds reveal their luminous apparel through an exceptional collection in which their joyful playfulness is matched by the jewellery virtuosity that sculpts the Chopard emblem, the heart. Diamonds abandon the traditional bezel setting in favour of an extremely precious chaton setting, thus embracing more generously sized stones and tracing the touching lightness of a perfectly proportioned heart through a complete set comprising a pendant, bracelet, ring and earrings.

Whether in their traditional version or their many variations, Happy Diamonds whirl freely within a gold case that is polished or embellished with diamonds dotted along a glittering ribbon created by bezel gem-setting. In this new precious collection, stunning creations invite prong setting onto their case, creating a whole new play on light.

These diamonds appear at their best advantage, enhanced and highlighted by chatons, like the jewels in their own crown. This precious setting technique has the fascinating ability to fade into the background, allowing diamonds to appear in all their purity and nobility. The result evokes a heart immersed in water, on which tiny drops settle and glisten in the light.

Inside, between two sapphire crystals, Chopard’s iconic dancing diamonds – now an unmistakable signature – are housed in their invisible gold capsule in such a way that they are perfectly free to move in whichever direction they please. Fertile, liberating and joyful, the heart finds a match for its multi-faceted nature in this precious interpretation of Happy Diamonds.

A ring, a pendant, earrings and a bangle are the stars gleaming in this new constellation. Chopard is an ethical and visionary maison with a big heart. Like all Chopard watch and jewellery production since 2018, this Happy Diamonds Joaillerie collection is crafted from ethical gold.

Happy Hearts

A special edition of Happy Hearts marks Chopard’s support for Natalia Vodianova’s Naked Heart Foundation. So much more than just a jewellery collection, Happy Hearts symbolises Chopard’s boundless generosity and creativity. It is infused with the vibrant energy of the maison’s heart emblem beating in unison with the causes dear to Caroline Scheufele.

A joyful and infinitely chic edition of the Happy Hearts bangle – crafted in ethical 18-carat rose or white gold and pink mother-of-pearl – is dedicated to Chopard’s support for the Naked Heart Foundation, the charity Natalia Vodianova launched in 2004 to help underprivileged children.

Happy Hearts embodies the beauty of a gift expressed through a jewellery collection. Its pink mother-of-pearl interpretation stems from the encounter between two big-hearted women: Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard; and Natalia Vodianova, founder of the Naked Heart Foundation, which works tirelessly to improve the daily lives of the most underprivileged children in Russia and around the world.

In a tender variation on the Happy Hearts collection, the ethical 18-carat rose or white ethical gold bangle featuring a dancing diamond is adorned with a pink mother-of-pearl heart. This soft, precious, delicate material harvested from the heart of shells is a perfect symbol of the protective cocoon with which every child should be surrounded. Its pink shimmer reflects the tenderness of Natalia Vodianova and Caroline Scheufele’s vision of the indispensable need to help those most in need. For this reason, a portion of the proceeds from this special edition sold is donated to the Naked Heart Foundation in support of its actions.

ACCESSORIES

Master-watchmaker and jeweller Chopard cultivates expertise extending to the production of a range of accessories synonymous with refinement and good taste. It thus interprets the world of its emblematic Happy Sport watch collection through a series of handbags.

Crafted from the finest materials, Chopard’s leather goods collection welcomes the Happy Sport shoulder bag. This elegant rectangular bag with its slanted-patterned quilted motifs is inspired by the codes of the sporty chic trend, which enjoyed its golden age in the 1990s when Chopard launched its iconic Happy Sport watch.

The Happy Sport bag features a large inside pocket lined with recycled fabric, along with an adjustable shoulder strap that makes it an extremely practical style accessory for keeping on the go with a light heart and free hands. The links and other metal details – including the traditional Chopard “C”, an ultimate token of good taste – have been treated to an antique-look gold finish that contributes to the deliciously vintage look of this essential fashion accessory.

The Happy Sport bag is available in a version crafted from red calf leather by the most qualified tanners and leatherworkers, or in fuchsia pink in 100% Seaqual denim, an innovative material made of Seaqual yarn and stemming from collaboration between non-governmental organisations, fishermen, researchers and scientists to recover and reuse plastic waste found in the oceans.

To complete this range, Chopard is offering a stole in organic silk chiffon, with a “Tree of Life” motif composed of different coloured hearts inspired by a sketch done by Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of the Maison.
