Annuals and Perpetuals from Patek Philippe

On the occasion of the Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 show, Patek Philippe unveiled the Ref. 5326G-001 Annual Calendar Travel Time that for the first time introduces two of the manufacture’s iconic complications with a totally new case design. Additionally, the manufacture is enriching its collection with stylish reinterpretations of particularly coveted models

Date Sweep Seconds – Ref 5226G
The latest addition to the Calatrava collection, the new white gold Reference 5226G-001, is based on the round, streamlined case shape that has made Calatrava models famous since 1932. Patek Philippe has reworked it by adorning its flanks with a guilloched Clous de Paris decoration. In order to allow this guilloched motif to run all the way around the caseband, a special case construction in which the lugs form an integral part of the case back has been devised. The charcoal grey vintage-inspired dial features a black-gradient rim, reminiscent of antique camera cases. It is adorned with white gold applied numerals with beige luminescent coating, as well as a discreet “railway track” graduated scale for the seconds. The hour and minute are displayed by syringe-shaped white gold hands with beige luminescent coating. The date indication appears through an aperture at 3 o’clock, printed in beige on a black background. The watch is powered by the self-winding 26-330 S C caliber equipped with a stop seconds function, and is accompanied by two interchangeable straps – one in beige calfskin with a nubuck finish, the other in black calfskin with embossed fabric pattern and beige stitching – both secured by a white gold prong buckle.

Annual Calendar Travel Time – Ref. 5326G
Patek Philippe’s Ref. 5326G-001 Annual Calendar Travel Time introduces two of the manufacture’s iconic complications in a new case. Endowed with the new self-winding caliber 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H, the new timepiece shines with a date display synchronised with local time and is automatically corrected forward or backward when the time zone is changed. While the dual time-zone display retains its two central hour hands – a solid hand for local time and a skeletonised hand for home time, the local time is corrected by means of the crown pulled out to the intermediate position. The Annual Calendar has also been reworked, with accelerated disk passages enabling optimal synchronisation of the date and local time. The new 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H caliber is accompanied by eight patent applications for innovations improving precision, performance, reliability, safety and user-friendliness. This model comes with a new Calatrava-type case adorned with a guilloched Clous de Paris decoration. The charcoal grey dial with a black-gradient rim and a slightly grainy texture is evocative of antique camera cases. The watch is accompanied by two interchangeable calfskin straps, both secured by a white gold fold-over clasp.

Chronograph Perpetual calendar – Ref. 5270P
Patek Philippe has debuted a platinum reinterpretation of the Chronograph Perpetual Calendar. The gleaming platinum case is accentuated by the concave bezel, elegant two-tier lugs and pushers that are satin-finished on the side and polished on the top. The lacquered green dial with its black-gradient rim evokes the bodywork of some of the finest vintage racing cars. The applied faceted hour markers and faceted dauphine hands in white gold stand out against the background in a highly legible manner. The perpetual calendar displays are harmoniously arranged with a date indicated by hand and a moonphase display at 6 o’clock, as well as a double day/month aperture at 12 o’clock, complemented by two small round apertures for the day/night indication and the leap-year cycle. The central chronograph hand in Pfinodal is distinguished by its sandblasted rhodium-plated grey finish, while a shiny black alligator strap with olive stitching completes the timepiece. The CH 29-535 PS Q caliber – the first perpetual calendar chronograph movement entirely developed and produced in-house – is distinguished by its traditional architecture (manually wound, column wheel, toothed-wheel horizontal clutch) combined with six patented chronograph innovations, as well as by its exceptionally slim calendar mechanism (only 1.65 mm for 182 components).
