H. Moser & Cie introduces a simpler version of Endeavour Perpetual Calendar

To mark the 10th anniversary of its flagship model, the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar, the Swiss watch company H. Moser & Cie takes the concept of simplicity in crafting its new edition

It has been ten years ago since the world met a revolutionary perpetual calendar with a complex movement and radically simple dial. It was in 2005 when H. Moser & Cie crafted the timepiece that featured no sub-dial, no illegible date disc wherein the indices showed not only the hours, but also the months, using a small central hand in the shape of an arrow. This watch flaunted a date window at 3 o’clock and power reserve indicator at 9 o’clock completed the piece, making it the most legible and easy-to-adjust watch on the market.

A year later, the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar watch became an iconic collector’s piece in 2006 when it was distinguished with the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (GPHG) in the complicated watch category. Now, in commemorating this iconic watch, H. Moser & Cie gave in to the demand for a simpler version, and took the concept of simplicity to new extremes.

According to the company’s CEO, Edouard Meylan, “This is because we don’t just create complications. We also create innovative solutions for reading the time”.  Hence, H. Moser & Cie celebrated the new perpetual calendar that displays a month indicator via central hand, a power reserve indicator on dial, and a leap year cycle indicator on movement side.

Featuring the company’s signature fumé dial without a visible logo, this timepiece remains immediately identifiable, proof that true luxury is easily recognisable. The remarkable dial boasts the leaf-shaped hands and the massive date display where the month is indicated with a small arrow-shaped centre hand.

Meanwhile, its 40.8 mm case showcases in 18-carat white gold with the curved sapphire crystal and transparent curved sapphire crystal caseback, as well as a screw-in crown adorned with the letter “M” and an engraving on movement side of case with words “LIMITED 10 PCS”.

The Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Concept is powered by the mechanical hand-wound in-house HMC 341 calibre, a true technical marvel. The movement features 18,000 vibrations per hour, 28 jewels, hacking seconds, double barrel and interchangeable Moser escapement. Its pallet fork and escapement wheel are made from gold while its components are hand-finished and decorated. With a seven-day power reserve, this particularly ingenious movement is the very essence of simplicity itself, enabling the date to be adjusted forwards or backwards at any time of day.

Available in limited edition of ten timepieces, the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Concept is set off by a beige kudu leather strap with solid 18-carat white gold pin buckle with engraved Moser logo, lending this bold, modern design an irreverent appeal, with a heart true to the finest watchmaking tradition.
