Hublot congratulates FIFA 2022 winner Argentina

Hublot congratulated the Argentinian team on its victory at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. As the tournament’s Official Timekeeper, Hublot shares this success as it timed every FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 match, from the qualification rounds to the final on December 18. The watchmaking marque hosted a star-studded party to mark the closing of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

The Argentina team claimed victory after a long, successful contest culminating in the final held on December 18, 2022, at Qatar’s iconic Lusail Stadium. During the unforgettable match timed by Hublot, the Argentinian team lifted the trophy in front of 88,966 live spectators – and over a billion fans watching at home.

The eagerly awaited 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup was hosted across eight stadiums during an unprecedented winter schedule that kicked off on November 20 and finished on December 18, Qatar’s national day. Following the successes of previous partnerships in South Africa, Brazil, and Russia, Hublot was appointed Official Timekeeper of the FIFA World Cup for the fourth consecutive year.

The 32 qualifying teams faced off in 64 matches under the watchful eyes of 129 official referees, who took to the field wearing the new Hublot Big Bang e FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, an indispensable tool for the referees. Thanks to its even larger, newly improved high-definition screen and Timeline function, this Gen3 smartwatch is Hublot’s most powerful Big Bang e yet.

Hublot also extended a special congratulations to its brand ambassadors, Didier Deschamps and Kylian Mbappé, for their distinguished involvement in the tournament. Long before kick-off at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Deschamps could boast that he had twice led the French team to victory in this competition – first in 1998 as a player and team captain, and then again in 2018 as manager. As for Mbappé, prior to the competition, he took part in the Hublot Loves Football campaign, which paid tribute to 15 football icons with 15 unique designs created by Lebanese fashion designer, Mira Mikati. The designs symbolise the watchmaking brand’s commitment to beauty, inclusivity, and unity. Kylian Mbappé was also the best striker of the tournament with eight goals to his name and was awarded the adidas Golden Boot.

Beyond the pitch, Hublot also embraced football’s famously festive spirit with a series of events attended by millions of guests. These select few were able to soak up the atmosphere of the FIFA World Cup in an immersive experience created by Hublot. The brand rounded off its time in Qatar with a star-studded celebration attended by Usain Bolt, Novak Djokovic, Mira Mikati, Richard Orlinski and Lior Suchard.

As the first and leading luxury watchmaking brand in football and the Official Timekeeper of the FIFA World Cup for the 4th edition this year, Hublot hosted a start-studded red-carpet event in Doha to celebrate football. The memorable closing party gathered brand ambassadors, friends of the brand, celebrities, clients, and partners who joined the Swiss watchmaker on this special occasion.

In attendance were 8 times Olympic champion Usain Bolt, 21 times Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, French sculptor Richard Orlinski, and football legends Luis Figo, Marcel Desailly, and David Trezeguet. Lebanese celebrity and TV presenter Annabella Hilal marked the opening of the vibrant night with a welcome note before giving the floor to Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe who warmly greeted the guests and highlighted the special relationship Hublot has with football.

The great evening boasted a line-up of entertainment with renowned mentalist and friend of the brand Lior Suchar who left the guests in awe, before the venue transitioned into a full beats experience with most streamed French artist in the world and Hublot Ambassador DJ Snake who took over the night with his exclusive stage.
