Montblanc honours partnership with unique 1858 Geosphere Pink Dial

Montblanc announced its first partnership with the Pink Dial project by creating and donating the 1858 Geosphere Pink Dial Unique Piece – assembled by a Montblanc female watchmaker, this wristwatch is of black DLC titanium with a fuchsia pink dial, and will be auctioned in October

The Pink Dial Project is a charity auction initiative created by Wei Koh (Founder of “Revolution” and “The Rake” magazines) in partnership with – Time+Tide, Fratello and Eye of Jewelry, a group of proactive watch and jewellery media who work directly with watch brands to create unique pieces to collect funds to fight breast cancer.

The auction will take place in October 2021 during the breast cancer worldwide awareness month on the Loupe online auction platform, with 100% of the proceeds donated to breast cancer charities in the United States, UK, Singapore, Holland, Switzerland, and Australia. Winners of each lot may also elect any recognised breast cancer charity in the world.

The Montblanc team has created a unique piece of the 1858 Geosphere. Inspired by the colour pink that symbolises the fight against breast cancer, Montblanc’s designers have chosen a stunning shiny fuchsia pink-coloured dial lacquered with a sunray finishing. Coated with SuperLuminova, the compass indications on the bezel, the Arabic numerals, the indexes and the globes feature blue luminescence, while the hours, minutes, and second time zone appear in luminescent green – providing appealing glowing aesthetics and great readability.

The fuchsia pink-coloured dial is contrasted with a deep black titanium 42 mm DLC case. The Manufacture Worldtime complication and movement powering the timepiece have been meticulously assembled by a Montblanc female watchmaker for an additional feminine touch. This complication features two turning domed hemisphere globes that make a full rotation in 24 hours. They are surrounded by a scale with the 24 time zones, along with a day/night indication for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. A second time zone display is located at 9 o’clock and a date aperture (linked to the local time) is located at 3 o’clock.

The 1858 Geosphere is inspired by the world’s Seven Summit mountaineering challenge that are represented together with the Mont Blanc mountain, as dots on the turning globes, while their names are engraved on the caseback. Paying tribute to the Pink Dial Project, the back of the watch unveils a three-dimensional rendering of a pink sunset reflected off the famous Mont Blanc mountain.
