OMEGA’s adventure with spies and antimagnetic tourbillons

Swiss watchmaker Omega has come out with an array of watches that exhibit the brand’s high watchmaking skills. For this year, the brand has introduced 26 new models in its Constellation collection for men – all of them with Master Chronometer status; other significant editions include the first Master Chronometer certified manual-winding central Tourbillon as well as the 007 Edition used by the master spy in his latest adventure on-screen “No Time To Die”

Constellation Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer 39mm

There are now 26 new models to choose from; all sized at 39 mm, they are crafted from materials, such as 18K yellow gold, 18K Sedna gold, and stainless steel. All of the gents’ models have been given significant updates. These include polished and bevelled edges along the case, claws and bracelet; slimmer bezels with redesigned Roman numerals; slimmer claws that fit gracefully around the case; a conical crown; redesigned hands and hour-markers, evocative of the triangular facets of the Freedom Tower in New York; and metal bracelets with new mid-bar links and a comfort-release function, or leather straps in various colours. All of the 39 mm models in the Constellation Gents’ collection have achieved Master Chronometer status – the Swiss industry’s highest certification for precision, performance and magnetic resistance.

De Ville Tourbillon Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer 43mm – Numbered Edition

This exceptional timepiece is OMEGA’s first Master Chronometer certified manual-winding central Tourbillon. OMEGA’s watchmakers have crafted a tourbillon cage that is able to keep rotating even under a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss, with the Tourbillon’s speed set to 1 rpm allowing the display of seconds, essential for achieving certification. The OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 2640 – with its 3-day power reserve indicator – can be viewed through the sapphire crystal caseback. Presented on a black leather strap, the 43mm central casebody, buckle logo and crown logo are made from 18K Canopus gold – an exclusive white gold alloy, distinctive for its high brilliance, whiteness and longevity. The sun-brushed dial is of 18K Sedna gold, in a captivating dark shade, thanks to its black PVD treatment. At the centre of the dial is the tourbillon cage with hand polished bevels in black ceramised titanium. The timepiece comes with OMEGA’s full 5-year warranty, is delivered in a special box with a travel pouch and watch crown winder, and a certificate with the specific number of each watch.

Seamaster Diver 300M Omega Co‑Axial Master Chronometer 42mm – 007 Edition

The 007 Edition is built with military needs in mind and with design inputs from Daniel Craig. The watch is available on a titanium mesh bracelet, or a striped NATO strap in dark brown, grey and beige, with 007 engraved on the loop. Each 42 mm timepiece is housed in a Grade 2 Titanium case and bracelet, and features an aluminium dial and bezel of an aged brown “tropical” hue. On the caseback is a series of numbers, following the format for genuine military-issue watches – “0552” is a naval code-number and “923 7697” the number for a divers’ watch. The letter “A” signifies a watch with a screw-in crown, while “007” is James Bond’s iconic agent number. The number “62” refers to the year of the first James Bond film. The new watch is completed by a NAIAD LOCK caseback, is driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, and is water-resistant to 300 metres. The watch will be delivered in an exclusive brown fabric pouch, and comes with OMEGA’s full 5-year warranty.
