Patek Philippe Watches

For nearly 180 years without interruption, Patek Philippe has been perpetuating the tradition of Genevan watchmaking. As the last family-owned independent watch manufacturer in Geneva, it enjoys total creative freedom to entirely design, produce and assemble what experts agree to be the finest timepieces in the world. Thanks to its exceptional know-how, Patek Philippe maintains an impressive repertoire of more than 100 patents. Patek Philippe has unveiled a selection of 15 debuts – 10 new watches for men, 5 for ladies – at Baselworld. We bring you a sneak peek at some of the best…

Patek Philippe 5172G Chronograph

The brand’s redesigned emblematic Ref. 5170 now has a fully polished white-gold case with round guilloched pushers and three-tier lugs, and a cambered sapphire-crystal “box” glass extending across the bezel. The dial features a blue background and contrasting white-gold applied Arabic numerals highlighted with a luminescent coating, white-gold baton-style hour and minute hands with pointed luminescent tips, a sandblasted central chronograph hand, and a white, transfer-printed minute counter with its tachymeter scale. The calibre CH 29-535 PS chronograph movement combines traditional architecture (column wheel, horizontal clutch and manual winding) with six patented innovations.

6300G Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime

The first Patek Philippe wristwatch with grande and petite sonnerie, this double-face reversible model features 20 complications including five chiming modes, and two patented world-firsts: an acoustic alarm that strikes the preselected time and a date repeater sounding the date on demand. The case has a patented reversing mechanism enabling the watch to be worn with either dial on view. The front side displays the acoustic functions indicators, together with civil time, a second time zone, the moon phases, the date, and the power-reserve indicators for the movement and the strikework. The reverse side features the perpetual calendar, with a central four-digit year display surrounded by four subsidiary dials (analog date, leap-year cycle, day, month and 24-hour indicator). Between the two 18K gold dials beats the calibre 300 GS AL 36-750 QIS FUS IRM manually wound movement comprising 1,366 parts.

Patek Philippe 5520P Alarm Travel Time

This new self-winding grand complication unites its Travel Time system for displaying a second time zone with a 24-hour alarm mechanism incorporating a hammer that strikes on a classic gong. The manufacture developed a movement of 574 parts, registering four patents for the alarm. The Travel Time mechanism comprises two central hour hands, the solid one for local time and the skeletonised for home time. When travelling, the owner simply presses the pusher at 8 o’clock or 10 o’clock to move the local-hour hand forward or backwards in one-hour increments. The timepiece has a sleek platinum case and its ebony-black sunburst dial features white-gold applied Arabic numerals and white-gold hands, with luminescent coating, and comes with a black calfskin strap.
