Rolex changes sides in new creation

Since its creation by Rolex in 1955, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II has accompanied some of the greatest moments in aeronautical history. From the first intercontinental flights to world speed records and Concorde testing – feats that are human as much as they are technological find echo in the GMT-Master II with the crown on the left. Other new additions include a sparkling Perpetual Yacht-Master 40 inspired by the aurora borealis and a Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 in 18k yellow gold

Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II
Rolex is unveiling a novel Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II, where the crown and crown guard are on the left side of the watch case. This required changing the precision testing process for some of the final controls carried out as part of the Superlative Chronometer certification. The date aperture and the Cyclops lens have also moved and appear at 9 o’clock. Made from Oystersteel and with an Oyster bracelet, this watch features a two-colour monobloc Cerachrom bezel insert in green and black ceramic. This original timepiece is equipped with Calibre 3285, displaying the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and an additional time zone in 24-hour format. The Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II carries the Superlative Chronometer certification.

Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40
Rolex is unveiling a colourful, sparkling Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40. Cast from 18k white gold, the watch features a rotatable bezel set with trapeze-cut precious stones. Pink sapphire, light-blue sapphire, diamond, purple sapphire and dark-blue sapphire – a harmonious sequence of five hues repeated eight times gives the bezel a unique sparkle that is further enhanced by a triangular diamond at 12 o’clock. The case shines with 46 brilliant-cut diamonds from the lugs to the crown guard. This new gem-set edition is equipped with calibre 3235, enabling it to display the hours, minutes, seconds and date. Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40 carries the Superlative Chronometer certification.

Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42
The new Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 42 in 18k yellow gold – which includes a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a Cerachrom insert with a raised graduation, and the Oysterflex bracelet – benefits from an optimised Chromalight display. The hour markers and hands are filled or coated with a new luminescent material, exclusive to Rolex, guaranteeing a longer-lasting intense glow and a brighter white hue in daylight. The timepiece is equipped with the Calibre 3235, enabling it to display the hours, minutes, seconds and date, and carries the Superlative Chronometer certification.
