Summer creations from Chopard

Summer is here and luxury maison Chopard is back with a veritable bouquet of offerings, which include numerous horological creations for the ladies wherein dancing diamonds play numerous roles. The gentlemen are not forgotten either, with a Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa that pays homage to the brand’s central role in the Mille Miglia race over the years. Meanwhile, the Happy Hearts jewellery collection is enhanced with two new colourful pendants

Happy Diamonds
Chopard’s Happy Diamonds watch collection appears paired with a new double tour nappa leather strap ensuring a smooth, supple feel on the wrist. Distinguished by an ethical 18-carat rose gold case framing a Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial, this wristwatch provides a halo-like stage for five of the maison’s iconic dancing diamonds.

Happy Diamonds are unique watch and jewellery creations vividly illustrating the Chopard artisans’ talent for instilling our daily lives with panache and joie de vivre. The famous timepiece is now treated to a smooth grey nappa leather strap, matching the dial, and with golden-beige stitching. This long, supple band wraps itself twice around the wrist, enhancing the mesmerising presence of a wristwatch radiating a joyful charm.

This exquisitely curvaceous, quintessentially feminine Happy Diamonds 26-mm model features an ingenious composition: the main case framing the time indication is encircled by a halo-like second bezel separated by a void graced with five diamonds held between two sapphire crystals. Whirling with carefree abandon, they echo the two diamonds set on either side of the case at 12 and 6 o’clock.

With their usual brilliance, the artisans exercising their craft in the Chopard workshops have provided a case-back pusher for setting the time, thereby avoiding any need for a crown and making the watch seem lighter than ever while preserving its perfect roundness. This latest Happy Diamonds model can thus give free rein to the stunning performance of an endlessly joyful waltz, based on a choreography that Chopard has been continuously orchestrating since the creation of its dancing diamonds in 1976.

Happy Fish
Enlivened by the whirling dance of dancing diamonds, the sea reveals its most precious treasures with the Happy Fish watch in ethical 18-carat white gold. A blue textured mother-of-pearl fish attired in gold leaf glides across the dial amid a sea of sapphires. Above it, seven dancing diamonds whirl like bubbles. The 36mm case fitted with a pearly blue leather strap houses a movement with automatic winding endowed with a 42-hour power reserve.

Offering a delightfully harmonious vision in blue and gold, the graceful movements and flowing curves of a majestic fish that lights up at night come to life through delicate engraving on the shimmering textured mother-of-pearl. The delightfully rounded shapes adorned with gold leaf create a softly glistening and luminous effect enhanced by graded shades of snow-set pastel blue sapphires. Dancing across these waves are seven luminescent dancing diamonds, while the red jasper eye of the fish stands out like an exclamation mark against the blue backdrop. The extreme delicacy of this jewellery craftsmanship continues on the bezel, which is set with diamonds of three different sizes creating a softer effect, while the ethical 18-carat white gold case fitted with a pearly blue alligator leather strap houses a mechanical movement with automatic winding.

Happy Ocean
The seductively feminine, glamorous yet technical Happy Sport watch collection takes the plunge into the azure waters of the South Seas. Bedecked in blue-grey livery with waves rippling across it, the aptly named Happy Ocean asserts its vocation as an ultra-chic sports watch. Beating at the heart of the 40 mm case and water-resistant to 300 metres is the Chopard 01.01-C movement with automatic winding, while the dial is graced with the Happy Sport collections’ famous dancing diamonds.

Behind its glamorous allure expressed through ethical gold and steel, Happy Ocean conceals authentic underwater capabilities. As expected from diver’s watches, it is equipped with a blue-grey unidirectional rotating bezel bearing a luminescent marker. The gold-rimmed hour-markers on the dial are also luminescent, as are the wide hands. Finally, the screw-down crown in 18-carat rose gold contributes to the 300-metre water-resistance of the case.

The grey-blue dial with waves rippling across it – creating a matt on bright blue effect – is matched by the bezel and the calfskin leather strap. Reflecting the hues of the South Seas, this pervasive colour theme is further enhanced by the twirling of five dancing diamonds, resembling small bubbles rising to the surface or sparkling fish gliding across the dial’s distinctive wave motif. This aquatic ballet is orchestrated by a movement with automatic winding, the 01.01-C calibre, entirely developed and produced in the Maison’s watchmaking workshops and ensuring a generous 60-hour power reserve. The watch is also available on a blue-grey NATO strap.

Happy Sport Golf Edition
Alongside five legendary Happy Diamonds, a dancing golf club, and a golf ball in white ethical gold twirl on the frosted dial of the Happy Sport Golf Edition. The sophisticated yet resolutely timepiece radiates an aura of unaffected chic, as a stylishly rolled-up shirt sleeve reveals a radiant 36 mm timepiece in steel and ethical 18-carat rose gold, graced with a polished or diamond-set bezel and ready to meet any challenge. Teamed with a green leather strap, the relaxed sophistication of the watch harbours a mechanical movement with automatic winding.

Seven dancing elements – five diamonds, a golf club, and a ball in ethical white gold – swing happily between two sapphire crystals, on a frosted green dial featuring a texture as soft as freshly mown grass. The frosted dial stems from the expertise of watchmaking skills and is based on a stamped metal technique that gives it its uniquely vibrant texture, a stunning depth effect perfectly suited to the velvety terrain of golf. Driven by a mechanical movement with automatic winding, the timepiece is adorned with an ethical 18-carat rose gold polished or diamond-set bezel, its 36 mm case combining stainless steel and rose gold.

Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa
“You win the 1000 Miglia race at the Raticosa Pass.” It was in these terms that Enzo Ferrari evoked one of the most spectacular stages of the famous Italian race, which is also one of the finest driving roads in the entire Italian peninsula. Together with the Futa Pass, it is also one of the only sections that can still be driven as it was in 1955. Chopard now presents the new Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa in tribute to this legendary pass. Issued in two 500-piece limited series, it features a varnished black or off-white dial and an open caseback, allowing full visibility of the Chronometer-certified movement. This timepiece reflects the ongoing partnership between Chopard and the 1000 Miglia.

The 42 mm-diameter case is manufactured from stainless steel: water-resistant to 50 metres, it guarantees rugged sturdiness along with ergonomics and reliability. Ready to take on the tough conditions of the race, the dial is protected by glare-resistant sapphire crystal, merging spectacular design with functional utility. Finally, the chronograph movement, chronometer-certified by the COSC, boasts a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and has a 42-hour power reserve.

The chronograph’s functions are driven by a meticulous device installed at the heart of this timepiece. On the dial, the 30-minute counter appears at 9 o’clock and the hours counter at 6 o’clock. The date aperture has been placed between 4 and 5 o’clock and the tachymeter scale built into the inner bezel ring serves as the driver’s best friend, calculating speed based on travel time and distance. It’s an essential feature of an accurate racing timepiece and one on which gentlemen drivers can rely.

Its chestnut brown calfskin leather strap is equipped with a black rubber lining inspired by 1960s Dunlop tyres – a nod to Chopard’s passion for classic cars. The dial itself comes in black or varnished off-white versions The Arabic numerals appear in the same shade of beige showcased by the hands and strap stitching. On the back of the watch, the open caseback is secured with screws and bears the 1000 Miglia logo, and a Raticosa inscription. Together, these elements create a watch worthy of Italy’s most exciting racing road – furthering the legacy of the Raticosa Pass with every meticulous tick of those rhodium-plated hands.

The Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa Edition is much more than a mere timepiece; it symbolises the unconditional passion of several generations of men for motorsport, which Chopard’s Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele himself is proud to perpetuate. It is a collector’s item, a tribute to a shining beacon of classic racing, steeped in technical brilliance matched by suave, stylish aesthetics.

Happy Hearts
Chopard is enriching its iconic Happy Hearts collection with two new cocktail pendants in ethical 18-carat rose gold and multicoloured mother-of-pearl. Within just a few years, the Happy Hearts collection has become a Chopard jewellery icon, distilling its aura through a series of talisman jewellery pieces sprinkled with coloured hearts and hearts carrying dancing diamonds. It now welcomes two new generously sized cocktail pendants in ethical 18-carat rose gold, on which mother-of-pearl hearts in a variety of colours and sizes are gracefully assembled into a bouquet. Among them is another distinctive small heart. Equipped with a diamond dancing between two sapphire crystals, this stands out as a signature of the Maison Chopard, which gave rise in 1976 to the original Happy Diamonds concept. These charming pendants are interpreted in two sizes and will complement a cocktail outfit as well as a chic and casual daytime look graced with the shimmering glow of mother-of-pearl.
