Sunflower Automatics from Harry Winston

The Premier timepiece collection welcomes two new white gold models embellished with the iconic Sunflower motif featured in the eponymous Harry Winston fine jewellery collection

Once again, the House of Harry Winston transforms the natural beauty of a sunflower into a precious jewel whose beauty will never fade. Marking a first for the Premier, the resplendent florals bask in the light with a profusion of brilliant-cut diamonds set against vibrant mother-of-pearl backgrounds.

Like sunflowers that turn their faces to the sun, the diamonds on the case and dial of this breath-taking creation reveal their innate brilliance and fire when they encounter light. These feminine timepieces interpret the natural radiance of the sunflower with a profusion of 177 brilliant-cut white diamonds and eight red rubies or blue sapphires, spread across the case and the mother-of-pearl dial.

Designers at Harry Winston have expanded the decorative potential of mother-of-pearl to create three-dimensional shapes. The Premier Sunflower plays with different techniques and features a fiery red or royal blue beaded mother-of-pearl background adorned with twelve nacre’s cabochons adding volume to the composition.

Twelve sunflowers, composed of brilliant-cut diamonds, mark the passing hours. The centre of the dial contains eight smaller flowers with diamond petals and ruby or blue sapphire hearts. Depending on the viewpoint, the dial is open to two interpretations: it could be a single sunflower with a central disc composed of tiny florets surrounded by petals on the perimeter, or it could be a medley of twenty individual sunflowers. Protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, the timeless blooms of the Premier Sunflower will maintain their bright colours and sparkle for eternity.

A sophisticated 36mm Premier case in 18-karat white gold set with 57 brilliant-cut diamonds houses this radiant interpretation of the Sunflower. A sapphire crystal on the reverse side reveals the HW2008 calibre, a superior Swiss-made mechanical automatic movement. The latest technology, in the form of a flat silicon balance spring, will ensure years of impeccable service. Powered by a rose gold skeletonised rotor, the movement delivers a robust power reserve of 72 hours and is finely decorated with Côtes de Genève, rhodium-plated parts and circular graining.

The Premier Sunflower timepieces are limited to 30 units for each model. Available with pearly red or blue alligator leather straps to match the dials, they are secured to the wrist with a refined white gold ardillon buckle set with 17 brilliant-cut diamonds.
