The BUBEN & ZORWEG AGARTOS

In true BUBEN & ZORWEG style, it took an assembled coterie of 10 world-class craft, design and technology experts two years to create the innovative AGARTOS

The AGARTOS is a striking showcase and watch-winder, capable of safeguarding five cherished watches, whilst keeping an accurate record of time. The polished exterior of the model boasts a large open-dial tourbillon clock that becomes the focal feature of the piece and is a limited edition of just 25 pieces.

The creation of such a unique project involved 4000 hours of meticulous development. Such dedication to perfection and innovation is not unusual at BUBEN & ZORWEG, a company that for 20 years has been designing and producing bespoke objects and interiors to proudly display watches, jewellery, art and other collectibles.

Five state-of-the-art axel CNC machines and 3D printing technology were used to create the fluid, masculine exterior and flawless finish of the AGARTOS. Its curved doors open and close in response to innovative sensor technology, where knowledgeable hands slide across the panels to allow the mechanism to operate.  A transponder locks the AGARTOS securely, ensuring valuables are safe.

Recently, one of BUBEN&ZORWEG’s clients in Singapore placed an order for a bespoke version of the AGARTOS in the form of the Iron Man super-hero. BUBEN & ZORWEG’s AGARTOS has now been nominated for the 2015 German Design Award – the German Design Council’s annual prize honouring unique designs from around the globe, in the Excellent Product Design category.
