Tiger cubs and flying hearts from Harry Winston

In honour of the Chinese Year of the Tiger, Harry Winston presents a Premier limited edition of eight timepieces that depict two adorable tiger cubs on its dial, while 20 balloons float on a mother-of-pearl sky in Premier Valentine’s Flying Hearts Automatic 36mm – a limited edition of 14 pieces

Premier Chinese New Year Automatic 36mm

Harry Winston’s designers have created two adorable, playful baby tigers on the dial, representing the early stages of a cub’s life. To recreate the magnificent tawny coat of the tiger, each lovable cub is crafted in 18-karat rose gold, while the characteristic stripes are rendered in the cut-out areas of the gold and then filled with red beaded mother-of-pearl. Their endearing faces, complete with whiskers and cute little noses, are animated with bright gleaming diamond eyes.

A sophisticated Premier case in 18-karat rose gold set with 57 brilliant-cut diamonds houses this charming model. The diamond-set lugs, at either end of the round 36mm case, evoke the famous arched stone entrance of Harry Winston’s New York Salon. Matching the dial, the timepiece comes on a shiny red alligator strap secured to the wrist with a rose gold ardillon buckle set with 17 brilliant-cut diamonds. On the reverse, a sapphire crystal reveals the mechanical automatic movement, which offers a robust power reserve of 68 hours and is water-resistant to 30 meters.

Premier Valentine’s Flying Hearts Automatic 36mm

For Valentine’s Day 2022, Harry Winston has chosen to portray the many facets of love by a bouquet of heart-shaped balloons made of precious gemstones and mother-of-pearl cabochons floating in an ethereal mother-of-pearl sky.

Using a palette of colours associated with love and romance, 20 heart-shaped balloons are filled with 30 rich red brilliant-cut rubies, 26 powder pink sapphires, 24 white diamonds and a few mother-of-pearl cabochons in the same shades. The precious gemstone balloons play with different sized stones set using a grain setting, which holds the stones in place with tiny prongs appearing like beads and allows the jewels to pulsate with light like miniature beating hearts. The 18-karat white gold case of the Premier Valentine’s Flying Hearts Automatic 36mm sparkles with the light of 57 brilliant-cut diamonds.

The central hours and minutes hands pierce a red heart-shaped balloon on the dial and keep impeccable time thanks to the high-end mechanical automatic movement visible through the sapphire crystal case back. Equipped with a flat silicon balance spring to ensure superlative precision over time, the balance beats at 4Hz and the movement can deliver up to 72 hours of power reserve. The 18-karat rose gold rotor is skeletonised, allowing a view of the finishings with circular Côtes de Genève and circular graining.

A limited-edition of 14, the timepiece is presented on a shiny red alligator strap and is attached to the wrist with an 18-karat white gold ardillon buckle set with a flourish of 17 brilliant-cut diamonds. This exceptional and highly romantic timepiece comes in a shiny white oval gift box with red, pink and white jolly balloons.
