Dazzling watches from Chopard

An ideal blend of beauty and precision, Chopard’s timepieces for the ladies reaps the benefits of the brand’s technical virtuosity and impressive artistic modernity. From designer to watchmaker, from jeweller to gemsetter, and from polisher to watchmaker, the marque’s creations are brought to life by the wide-ranging talents of the Maison’s in-house artisans

Imperiale – Green
The Imperiale collection welcomes a diamond-set ethical 18-carat rose gold timepiece. Its dial, adorned with the collection’s emblematic motif, is graced with gently comforting green textured mother-of-pearl, matching the leather strap. Housing the new Imperiale self-winding movement, the timepiece is reinvented in a soft green interpretation whose subtle shades echo nature in bud and bloom, easy on the eye and delightfully elegant on the wrist. The dial is adorned with textured mother-of-pearl, the softness of which provides infinite nuances, drawn from the heart of shells harbouring their precious expressions. Its silky iridescence, its rarity and the singularity of its naturally wavy motif, endows each of these timepieces with unique character. A veritable heart of light framed by a 36 mm case with a daintily diamond-set bezel. Likewise, the bezel, lug-covers, cabochons and crown are adorned with a generous diamond setting that accentuates the precious nature of this watch fitted with a glossy green leather strap.

Imperiale – Red
This diamond-set ethical 18-carat rose gold timepiece features a silver-toned dial radiating a mesmerising aura thanks to delicate hand guilloché work. The collection’s emblematic arabesque motif is concentrically repeated in the centre, surrounded by a decorative fillet of diamonds of different sizes. This perfectly legible dial depicts the passing of time with hands sweeping over four gilded Roman numerals and eight diamond-set hour-markers. The Chopard 96.17-C in-house movement with automatic winding powering this Imperiale timepiece is revealed in all its mechanical majesty through the transparent case-back. This calibre features a bidirectional micro-rotor made of tungsten alloy and is equipped with Chopard Twin Technology barrels ensuring a 65-hour power reserve. Despite its 172 components driving the hours and minutes indication, the movement remains extremely thin at just 3.3 mm, making it ideal for the fabulously feminine Imperiale watch. The generous diamond setting adorning the bezel, lug-covers, cabochons and crown accentuates this timepiece, which is fitted with a burgundy leather strap.

Imperiale Moonphase
The new 36 mm Imperiale Moonphase is of ethical 18-carat white gold studded with precious stones, with a dial made entirely of aventurine. Naturally sprinkled with stars, this delicately spangled glass is graced with the five main northern hemisphere constellations. Together, they serve as a backdrop for the astronomical moon-phase display, orchestrated by the Chopard 96.25-C movement. Attired in deep blue and lit up by the fire of diamonds, Imperiale Moonphase offers a delicately shimmering interpretation of the lunar cycles. Its entirely in-house made 96.25-C movement with automatic winding is certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and features a generous 65-hour power reserve. Its moon-phase display offers astronomical accuracy, reducing the precision error in the duration between two successive new moons (known as a lunation) to just 57.2 seconds, and hence taking 122 years to accumulate a mere one-day difference between the measured and actual lunar cycle.

Happy Diamonds Joaillerie
The new watch is inspired by one of the maison’s historic variations: a creation on which 15 dancing diamonds swirl around the dial in a playful game of hide-and-seek, at times hidden beneath a mother-of-pearl gallery, and at others cascading across the lower part of watch. Combining the sparkle of diamonds with the shimmer of Tahitian mother-of-pearl, the timepiece is housed in an ethical 18-carat rose gold case. The true feat of ingenuity lies in a gallery placed between 9 and 3 o’clock where these daring diamonds can temporarily remain hidden from sight. When they emerge from this secret passage, they cascade down the dial, playing an endless game of hide-and-seek with entranced observers. These dancing gems are of two different sizes, emphasising the random nature of this sparkling waterfall. Measuring 38 mm, the watch is presented on a grey brushed canvas strap, matching the colour of the Tahitian mother-of-pearl and fitted with a diamond-set rose gold buckle.

L’Heure du Diamant
The collection is reinvented in a new cushion-shaped watch of ethical 18-carat white gold, with a mother-of-pearl dial and rimmed with diamonds. This creation features the emblematic tree bark-textured gold bracelet sculpted using a proprietary technique and beats to the rhythm of the Chopard 09.01-C self-winding movement, and boasts a 42-hour power reserve. The absolute purity of the diamond is majestically highlighted by the collection’s emblematic crown-setting technique, which exalts the beauty of each of the gems by allowing the light to shine through. This ribbon of diamonds encircling the case lights up a delicate mother-of-pearl dial – itself dotted with 12 diamond hour-markers – with its shimmering reflections echoing the diamond mantle adorning the watch. The light also plays brilliantly across the tree bark-style bracelet. Reflecting the plant world, its extremely fine veins lend a special vibrancy to the bracelet, thanks to a close-knit weave giving the ethical 18-carat white gold an incomparably supple and light feel.

Esperanza
Surrounded by countless legends, emerald has inspired Chopard’s haute joaillerie workshops to create a new jewellery watch, crafted in ethical 18-carat white gold and entirely set from dial to bracelet with emeralds and diamonds. Aptly named Esperanza, it is the first model in the new Red Carpet Collection. Emerald has been greatly coveted since antiquity and legend indeed has it that Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, was extremely fond of this stone that evokes Nature’s fresh bloom each springtime. Chopard’s haute joaillerie artisans have chosen to highlight this unique gem in the aptly named Esperanza jewellery watch. Entirely crafted in ethical 18-carat white gold, it glows with the fire of more than 41 carats of Zambian emeralds spectacularly arranged in a mixture of pear-shaped and round cuts, complemented by glittering diamonds. It took the Maison’s artisans more than 515 hours of work to complete this jewellery masterpiece.
