Limited editions and experiences from Panerai

Panerai, which first opened in 1860, has always had close ties with the Italian Navy for which it has been supplying high-precision instruments almost since it opened. High visibility under tough conditions under sea drove the marque to first come out with its Radiomir, which was patented on March 23, 1916. This innovation and striving for excellence has driven the brand over the decades since and has resulted in numerous patents and records. This year, Panerai has focused on its Submersibles and come out with numerous limited editions that also offer inimitable experiences to its owners…

Panerai Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry Edition – 47mm – Limited edition

The fifteen people who acquire this special edition will enjoy a unique experience with Guillaume Néry in the French Polynesian ocean depths. The watch is water-resistant to 300 metres, and fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel with an applied black ceramic disc, for calculating dive-duration. Luminous white markers against a specially textured black and blue background dial provide legibility. The screw back carries Néry’s signature and numerous engravings evoking his free-diving record. The watch is also a precision flyback chronograph, and the device for zeroing the seconds hand to achieve perfect synchronisation with a reference signal. The P.9100 automatic calibre, with a 3-day power reserve, was developed by Panerai.

Submersible Luna Rossa – 47mm

Inspired by Panerai’s partnership with the Challenger of Record of the 36th America’s Cup, the Submersible Luna Rossa is a diving watch water-resistant to 300 metres with a carbotech case. The unidirectional rotating bezel is of carbotech, as is the dial, which carries pieces of the sails of the Luna Rossa. The indications on the dial – a date window at 3 o’clock and a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock – are clearly visible and several details stand out in red colour: the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock and the central hand indicating the second time zone. The watch houses the P.9010/GMT Manufacture automatic movement, with a bidirectional oscillating weight and two spring barrels, giving a 3-day power reserve.

Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech – 47mm

The watch has ‘Survival Instrument’ and an Italian Navy commandos-inspired image engraved on the back. The carbotech case, 47 mm, features a unique camouflage appearance, reflected in the carbon dial, with the date and small seconds windows at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. The unidirectional rotating bezel calculates the dive-duration, while the Super-LumiNova-applied markers and the large skeleton hands provide easy readability. It houses a Panerai Manufacture P.9010 calibre with a 3-day power reserve. The balance oscillates at 28,800 vph and is fitted with the device that stops the movement as soon as the winding crown is pulled out, to enable the watch to precisely synchronise with a reference signal. The hour hand can be adjusted independently by moving it forward or backward in one-hour jumps.

Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech – 47mm – Limited edition

The Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech Limited Edition will enable its 33 fortunate owners to enjoy a unique training session with Comsubin, the Diving and Commando Group of the Italian Navy. The edition is numbered 33, evoking the number of Gold Medals for Military Valour won by members of Comsubin. In this version, the all-black design is enhanced by details in an intense military green; the Super-LumiNova makes the hands and the hour markers on the dial and the rotating bezel visible in the dark, and the tough rubber strap, perfect for scuba diving. On the back of the case, the Comsubin logo is engraved.

Panerai Submersible Mike Horn Edition – 47mm – Limited edition

This limited edition of 19 watches will offer its owners a few days of intensive training with Mike among the ice floes of the Arctic. The Mike Horn Edition is a professional diving watch, water-resistant to 300 metres, with a special 47 mm case made of EcoTitanium – recycled titanium. The case, the device protecting the winding crown, the bezel and also the back – engraved with Mike Horn’s signature and an image of sea creatures – are all of EcoTitanium. The blue unidirectional rotating bezel helps calculate each dive-duration, while legibility is guaranteed by the blue Super-LumiNova (green in the regular edition), on the index markers, and the large skeleton hands. The seconds dial features at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock, together with the inscriptions “Panerai Submersible” and “Automatic 300m/1000ft” silk-screened on the sapphire crystal. The blue strap (black in regular edition) is of recycled PET. The watch houses the P.9010 automatic calibre with a 3-day power reserve.
