More Gems from Dior

The Gem Dior jewellery collection, revealed in 2021, is enriched with new models this year. Victoire de Castellane, the Creative Director of Dior Joaillerie, has dreamed up a continuation of this powerful declaration of love: Gem Dior, Gemmes Dior, J’aime Dior

Again, a recurring geometric motif is featured in this line, ingeniously refined: a skillfully orchestrated stacking of little rectangles makes them seem as if there by a magical stroke of luck. The irregular raised surface gives the jewel rhythm and offers the touch a particularly sensual experience.

Behind this aesthetic, as always for Victoire de Castellane, there are numerous sources of inspiration. Again, the notion of vast geological strata and the intrinsic geometry of uncut stones, dear to the designer since the 2019 haute joaillerie collection, which was already entitled Gem Dior.

A tribute to haute couture and to the House’s founder can also be distinguished in the resemblance to the small fabric samples that Christian Dior assembled on his large chart boards. For the founding-couturier, silks, wools, precious embroidery; for Victoire de Castellane, white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, semi-pave or all-diamond.

Seven rings and seven bracelets allow for all combinations, all accumulations, to express the desires of each and all, every day. As in the initial line, which already associated jewellery and clockwork, two models of watch complete this second Gem Dior opus, “precious bracelets that tell the time,” notes the creator.

These shaped watches echo, on their dials, the aesthetics of the entire collection, with an interplay of contrasting materials, colours, and densities. Malachite and a mixture of gold and steel, lapis lazuli and a harmony of hard stones.
