Verdant moonphases and bicolours from Glashütte Original

Glashütte Original upholds the values of authentic manufactory production and can look back on an uninterrupted history that began in 1845. Located in the Saxon town of Glashütte, the manufactory brings traditional craftsmanship and innovative technologies together under one roof. The tradition-rich brand produces up to 95% of all movement components as well as the filigree dials in-house and represents the highest levels of German watchmaking art. This year, the brand is back with new additions to its PanoMaticLunar and SeaQ lines

PanoMaticLunar
In the classic 40 mm circular case with its traditional leather strap, the unusual asymmetric dial of the PanoMaticLunar with its intricate off-centre hour and minute hands is noticeable, as is its prominent small second display, the characteristic Panorama Date display at 4 o’clock and the cleverly rendered moon phase indicator. The intricate craftmanship of the dial is evidence of the time and energy spent creating this masterpiece. The colour gradient on the hand-crafted dial is particularly eye-catching; beginning with an intense dark green in the centre, it changes gradually to black at the edges. The see-through sapphire crystal case back shows the exquisitely finished manufactory 90-02 automatic movement with its off-centre rotor. Glashütte Original’s signature duplex swan-neck fine adjustment along with numerous other iconic signatures are present. The red gold case and crown are polished to perfection and offer a warm contrast to the rich, deep green of the dial; the glossy alligator leather strap in green is the lush, opulent finishing touch to a harmonious presentation.

SeaQ in bi-colour
The new SeaQ in bi-colour goes back to Glashütte Original’s very first diver’s watch, the 1969 Spezimatic Typ RP TS 200. The sporty watch in stainless steel and yellow gold takes up the original look of the Spezimatic, adapting it for today’s active men and women. The timepiece has passed the rigorous DIN 8306 and ISO 6425 requirements for certification as a professional diver’s watch. With a water resistance of 20 bar, the SeaQ is well equipped to handle variations in pressure. Inside the watch the brand’s 39-11 automatic manufactory movement delivers precision, reliability and resistance. The rotating bezel with a deep blue ceramic inlay offers exceptional scratch resistance, while Super-LumiNova on the hands, numerals and indexes enables optimal legibility under all lighting conditions. Cool stainless steel combines with a rotating bezel in solid yellow gold, while shimmering golden numerals and hands provide warm accents and form a contrast with the deep blue dial. Different strap versions make it easy to adapt the watch to one’s personal style.
